For decades, the ABF was well supported ‘hands on’ by almost all large agencies and by some generous corporates. But in today’s climate of small margins and limited resources, the Fund survives mostly thanks to the efforts of a few passionate individuals – virtually all of them owners of small to medium sized businesses.
With ever-shrinking resources, alas some of the ABF’s annual events that always drew huge industry presence have had to be scaled down. Less of them and less ABF visibility naturally means fewer opportunities to fundraise.
To do that, we need ABF events. Not only to let our younger industry fellows but also to encourage ongoing support and donation and have some fun!
We’re hard at it right now planning ABF gatherings, events and hopefully too some of those ‘fun’ do’s that were once yearly ‘unmissables” for everyone in our industry. We’d love your help and ‘mucking in’ to make these happen or perhaps you would like to plan an event of your own or nominate a staff member as your point of liaison with us.
Your ABF contributions are also TAX DEDUCTIBLE and considered a Bona Fide voluntary donation expense. All donations will be issued with a Section 18A Tax exemption certificate.
The ABF qualifies for BBBEE compliance exemption, as defined in the Codes of Good Practice relating to “Exempted Micro Enterprises”, set out in Section 9 (5) of the Broad-Based Black Empowerment Act.
The ABF is a non-profit organisation. Financial aid goes only to those in need.
It’s the right thing to do! It’s our industry and we should ALL get involved.
